To men, victory is equated with how well the athletic program helps young people transition to the real world. Learning to accept both victory and defeat graciously, play fairly with emotion and passion, learn the abilities and limits of team work while realizing one's personal contribution to a team, learning to follow commands, etc. are all, to me, the intrinsic values of sports. But, as you mentioned, winning has become the sole yardstick of success.

Well, what do ya wanna do, win or fatten the bank account??...I didn't realize the Lb. wanted an accountant for a coach...maybe they need to list it as such...lol. Mullins wasn't a bad coach.

If JIB or C-wins the LPD, Hasyi is in the drivers seat and perhaps another D1 wins the Cumberland....how many losses can the 2nd place lpd D1 team afford and make the play-offs?

I'd say both will have no less than 8 victories, so getting in the play-offs shouldn't be a problem should it?

Just wondering. I've seen teams left out ,but haven't had time to look at the other districts. Didn't think any would have the power points, but wanted to see if anybody else thought different. Thanks

The D1 Playoffs will be Clintwood, JIB, Haysi, and whoever wins the Cumberland.

Still to early to start adding Powerpoints but alot will be determaned by how much the Cumberland teams knock each other off (I think all have at least 1 district loss at this point)

Hurley could also be a player in all this however even if they finish 8-2 I think there point total from week teams will keep them out.

IMHO in another 2 weeks we can start looking at the ins and outs of the Powerpoint situations

District Champions are still guaranteed a spot. So, Haysi and 1 from the Cumberland get in. That leaves JIB and Clintwood. The loser of that has to be outpointed by anyone else...and it ain't happening.

with how far off some of your prior prognostications and evaluations have been i would normally take a prediction from you with a grain of salt...however, i think you are right on with this one.
